Time Flies!

First session is over. I can't believe how quickly each day goes by.

Also, my new goal for this blog is to feature the special events and other exciting meals that occur at camp. I think I can skip the mundane corn dog/scrambled eggs/spaghetti type meals.

First up: Fourth Of July!!
As a Canadian citizen, all of my 4th of July celebrations are from my summers at camp. We've had parades, baseball games, fairs, BBQs, reenactments (that being a loose term). It's always fun and memorable.
This year, the meals were themed as a t
rip from coast to coast.

We started on the East Coast with NY Bagels, served with three kinds of cream cheese (chive, raspberry, plain), nutella, jelly, sausage patties, tater tots, scrambled eggs, strawberries.

For lunch we were in the South with pulled pork, ribs, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, biscuits, coleslaw, baked beans and pickles. We had lunch on the Clock Tower Lawn among a number of exciting Wild-West arcade games.

And for dinner we had a Tex-Mex fiesta with steak fajitas.

It was awesome. The kids has a great time at the fair after lunch. The dance was last night and after the dance there were Fireworks.

I know this will be a memorable day for all who were there.

So long, first session. Here comes the second!

Friday, June 28

Breakfast: Bagels!

Lunch: Corn dogs!

Dinner: Calzones and salad. Strawberry shortcake for dessert, (we had to do something with the 100 quarts of strawberries that we got...) and the whipped cream is from Stafford Creamery. You could not get fresher more grass-fed cow's milk (or cream, as it were).

Sorry about the lesser picture for dinner. Willie did his best!
